Chapter MTACA3
Meeting Minutes
October 05, 2002
Treasury Report – Report at this meeting was effectively for the month of April?
- Previous Balance = $527.28
- New Expenses = $111.00
- New Revenue (Dues)= $56.00
- New Balance = $472.28
- Net from the WWW Ride = $502.00
Additional Financial Discussions –
- It was discussed whether the entire net ($502.00) that resulted from the WWW Ride should be donated to the charity that we normally support with these funds, or whether the club should retain some amount for future club business. It was agreed that we would donate $500.00 to the charity this time, but we may retain some amount in the future.
- It was also again brought up that we could reduce the amount charged for club dues for the future, as our costs to run the club are now less than in the past. It wasn’t decided as to whether to do this.
Wacky Wabbit Poker Run IV –
- Date Held
– Sunday, September 22, 2002
- Start Location
– Was from Pacific Yamaha, 1358 Pacific Coast Hwy., Harbor City, CA (half mile west of Harbor Fwy., I-110)
- Finish Location - Pacific Yamaha
- Number of Entries – 61 (Note: not everyone signed in. We need to perhaps do some things a little differently for future rides of this type, to ensure that everyone signs in.)
- Comments – A couple of people from another club indicated that the ride was the best run Poker Ride that they had ever done, even though several of us working the event identified that we could have done better in some ways. Lessons learned, perhaps!
Web Site –
- Web site is up and running, although there currently isn’t any content there yet.
- The site address is as follows:
- In the future, information such as meeting minutes, future ride information, etc., will be posted on the web site.
- The Web Master (the person responsible for maintaining the site content) will either be Steve Morris, or Steve’s son, Kimo.
- A more secure page of the web site will be set up that only club members can get to, to allow for club business that can’t be seen by individuals that are non-members. Perhaps this page will be called "********".
Future Ride Calendar –
Discussion again took place concerning rides for the remainder of this year, as well as for the spring of 2003. Some options discussed follows:

- Sept. 2003 – Wacky Wabbit Wide again. Perhaps with a different ride route/area.
Holiday Party –
- The Chapter CA3 Annual Holiday Party will be held on December 8, 2002 at Terry Murphy’s in Harbor City. It will be a pot luck with the club providing the main dishes.
Of Special Note –
- The AMA local Annual Meeting and Risk Management Training will again be held in Brea, and will be Thursday, November 7, 2002. Again, it is necessary that we (MTA Chapter CA3) are represented by members attending, in order for us to be able to continue using the AMA insurance program, etc. Steve indicated that he may be able to attend, and Jim Close will also attempt to attend. It would seem that others would be more than welcome.
After the meeting we went on an abbreviated version of the WWW route. We had 10 bikes and it was kind of nice being together on the bikes for the first time in a while. Steve rode his Venture for the first time since the June 12 infamous accident and did fine!
