Meeting was held at Steve's house in Torrance. Although Josie missed the meeting (she was at a party), she was sweet enough to have ready a pot of coffee and numerous goodies. |

TREASURERS REPORT:
- Steve reported that some members still havent paid their 2004 dues. He also explained that we carry a few on our roster as a courtesy. These members dont ride motorcycles any longer or live out of the area but want to receive emails and stay informed.
- Steve explained to new members that the money in our treasury will be spent on charity (Harbor Interfaith Shelter), the club Christmas party, and a lunch ride for members.

GLAD TO SEE YOU, CARL!:
- Carl is one of our oldest members one of the originals from 1984. Good to see him at the meeting today. He came on his 1978 single-cylinder Suzuki 400. Both are still in good shape!

SURREAL MOMENT:
Steve and Josie were returning from the one day ride sponsored by Wings of the Phoenix GWTA and were heading past the Reagan Library just as the radio announced the death of President Reagan.

V-DAZE:
- ~300 people attended, and our chapter had the 3rd largest number of attendees: 12!
- Some memorable moments: sitting around the campfire late at night and riding through the Rocky Mt. Natl Park and over the Continental Divide at 12,000. Whew!
- Rick Butler crashed on the way. He apparently suffered a heart attack. Both he and his wife were admitted to a hospital in Denver. Certainly less important but nonetheless noteworthy was the fact that all the event paperwork, gifts/prizes were in Ricks trailer which was impounded after the accident. (Items were retrieved on the last day of the event.)
- Josie was the official photographer. Look for photos in the next issue of Motorcycle Roads.
- Kathy Fitzgerald crashed while on a poker run. Happily, Kathy landed on a soft hillside. Unhappily, her bike landed on top of her and broke her ankle. Unnecessarily, she also received a ticket! Double-ouch!
- Award Winners!! Nadine won the youngest female rider award. Kathy won the longest distance female rider. In field events, Steve won 1st in the slalom race and 1st in the lighting show. Josie won 1st in the weenie bite (dont ask!), and Dave Palmer won 2nd in the slalom race for a California sweep. Way to go, team!
- Next years V-Daze will be in North Carolina. Mark your calendars for the 3rd week in June.

WACKY WABBIT POKER RUN V1:
- Fliers have been made with members being asked to distribute them to local shops.
- Chuck Meyer has made up the route. The start is Huntington Beach Honda, but the details and final destination are unknown since Chuck and Dorothy are in Norway. Hes a pro at this, so we trust whatever hes come up with!
- Volunteers were/are needed for committees.
- The Sign-In Table will be manned by Tina and Ed, Joe Z., and referees Ken and Nadine. Stephanie will be there, also, to sell 50/50 tickets.
- Pins: Steve will take care of that.
- Checkpoints: Leo volunteered for one. It would be great to have 2 for each checkpoint.
- Food: The Yamamotos and the Fitzgeralds. However, Brent may be out of town and Kathy may not be able to do much with her cast, so Ginger and Gary will help here if needed.
- Prize Coordinator: We need someone to step up, but all members are being asked to contact individuals and/or businesses for door prizes. Prized can be anything at all. They need not be motorcycle related.
- Promotion: Steve will be obtaining a list of motorcycle club meetings. Hes asked that we divide and conquer, attending meetings to promote the run. Look for this list to come via email. Also, please distribute copies of the flier to as many local shops as you can in your area.
- Route: Chuck
