MTA Meeting Minutes for June 8, 2003

The meeting preceded by breakfast at Denny’s in Torrance followed by a 45 minute ride around the Palos Verdes Peninsula that ended at Steve and Josie Morris’ home.

TREASURERS REPORT - Our new treasurer will be Tina McKnight. We will open a new checking account at a local Washington Mutual bank that will require 2 signatures for withdrawals

OLD BUSINESS - Announcement was made that we have a few shirts left. Ed and Tina McKnight each bought one.

UPDATED MEMBERSHIP LIST - An updated version was handed out to those that wanted one. If anybody wants one who was not at the meeting, email Steve Morris. Requires MS Excel to display.

RECENT PAST RIDE SUMMARIES

A summary of the terrific weekend ride to Mammoth and Yosemite was written by Jim Fitzgerald and read by Steve at the meeting. It is posted on the website. The scenery was spectacular and to those who did not attend, we can only say you missed something really special!

UPCOMING RIDES

  • JUNE 23-27, 2003 - Many of us will be going to V-Daze IX in Marshall, MI which takes place over June 23-27. We are really looking forward to this grand annual event.
  • JULY 13, 2003 - Benefit ride by the Brothers of the Third Wheel .Sign-In 8-10 AM at Cycle Giant, 20996 Bake Pkwy. 110, Lake Forest 949-454-2199. All donations will go to purchase a special wheelchair for the disabled kids to transfer to the pool for their water therapy. Donation $15 per person with $1 discount for club affiliation and $2 for preregistration.
  • AUGUST 10, 2003 – Fun-in-the-Sun Ride.
  • SEPTEMBER 20, 2003 - Fort Tejon Civil War Battle Reenactment day ride. Meet at 0900 at Denny’s at Roxford exit from 405.
  • SEPTEMBER 28, 2003 - Annual Wacky Wabbit Wides Again. It was decided to see if we can still get the WWW on the SCMA and AMA calendar. Ken and Nadine Robbins volunteered to do the coordination with AMA.
  • OCTOBER 4-5, 2003 - We voted the go to Lompoc this weekend where we will stay overnight after a ride around the Santa Ynez Valley including Solvang. Plan to visit Quick Silver Ranch and their miniature horses. Dinner at Jocko’s in Nipomo.

  • It was discussed and agreed to keep meetings on Saturday or Sunday for either breakfast or lunch together with a ride.
  • Adjourned at 1200 noon.
